Trails are well marked. At crossing are signs and maps. Also level of difficulty indicated by colours. Weather conditions can change rapidly in wilderness. Always use caution and be prepared. Extra clothes and food, a map, a compass, a knife and matches in a day bag can make the difference if a blinding snow storm takes the skier by surprise. Don't leave the marked trails and if you get lost, find a shelter and build a fire before you get too tired and cold. Keep yourself warm by moving around. |
